Despite the drought, we've had just enough rain here to make the lawn grow.  Woo hoo! Today I turned the "lawn crew" out to work.

Supervisor in the Shade:

Like Pac Man, the sheep go through the yard.

 Goats in the Yard

MMMMMM.... browse!

The Supervisor patrols the perimeter.

"Sector 12 is clear!"

As I look at the pictures of the PacMan sheep, I hear 'waca waca waca' noises in my head.

That's exactly what I was thinking as they hit that grass!

I'm relieved to see that you've had some rain and the grass is green. We just got some rain too and the grass in my yard (OK, the yard is 80% weeds now) is getting green again. I really need to get out with the weed digger and pull up some weeds. I could use some of your goats here :-)

Clover's baby boy has grown so big so fast- he's still adorable! Are you going to keep him?

Do goats eat weeds? Do they pull up and consume weeds on a lawn or do the sheep have that job? Just wonderin' ;-) There are sheep & lambs up the road from here. If I could borrow one for a while ...

Clover's baby HAS grown like a weed. He is actually going to his new home this weekend. He and Swan (who has 4 teats, so isn't destined to be a milk goat) will be going to a pet home on Sunday evening!

Goats and sheep both are hell on weeds. They can clear an area in no time flat. Goats are better at browsing brushy areas and sheep do better on the flat stuff, but working together, they make a wonderful yard crew!
