The Grocery Store

After hauling cow hay, Trace and Other Half go the grocery store . . .

Since Kroger's takes a dim view of canine shoppers, Trace waits in the truck.

Other Half returns to find that someone has locked the doors and he cannot get in the truck. Who would have done that?

"Trace! Unlock the door!"

Fortunately for Other Half, Mommy and Lily are sitting in another truck in the Kroger's parking lot . . .

. . . so there is another key.

I didn't blame Trace. Who leaves a puppy in an unlocked truck with the motor running? (even if his wife IS sitting in the lot! Someone who doesn't mind having his ice cream melt . . .)

"I was skeered, Dad!

I had to lock the doors so strangers wouldn't take me!"

Been there, done that. Never EVER leave a dog in the truck without having a spare key in your pocket......LOL....

I once read about a dog who was locked in a car, but this dog knew about 200 words. So the owners stood outside the window saying words it knew, like "Paw! Nose!" etc., directing it to roll down the window enough for them to unlock the car. Neat, huh?

I see Trace has outgrown baby talk now. He's a big boy! Is Cowboy going to lose out as Dad's truck dog?

Oh dear me! NO! Cowboy is still Daddy's truck dog! Most of the time Trace has to play second fiddle to Lily so from time to time, Other Half takes him for special "Dad & Trace" time.

The only success I've had getting a dog to unlock the door was getting them excited enough to bounce on the door lock. (it has never worked for me, but it sounds good in theory!)

Awww ... Trace is so beautiful and CUTE! Good thing you were shopping too. But then, if you hadn't been there, surely the truck wouldn't have been left unlocked and running with windows up. Love seeing the goats running around, flinging their long ears in the air -- SO CUTE!!! I would like to be able to invite a goat to spend mornings eating my grass since it grows so fast and lush. My lawnmower is a PITA because it refuses to cut wet grass.

No, if I hadn't been there, he would have locked it up. Still, I had no idea it was unlocked and wasn't even watching that side of the truck!
