I give you Exhibit A:

What have we learned from our experience with the rattlesnake?

Do we rush in and sniff strange creatures?

Maybe? Maybe not?

It would appear that Dillon is a tad more cautious than he was prior to his encounter.

Briar, on the other hand, definitely needs some snake aversion therapy before she moves to the North Ranch.

Oh well, for the time being, she isn't likely to encounter a rattlesnake. Dillon is scheduled for an appointment with a rattlesnake and a shock collar in the near future, but it's nice to see he's not quite ready to wade right in again to "Dangerous Creatures."

To prevent any harm from coming to the turtle from a curious Briar (or Aja who might use the poor thing as a Nylabone) I removed the turtle safely to the pond,

where he continued his little turtle journey, one step at a time.

I live on 25 acres outside of Austin in the hill country. How do I find a good snake aversion person? Or a place to go to for this? I LOVE your blog, my neighbor Stephanie Morgan turned me onto it. She's the gal whose Aussie pup was kicked in the head a few days ago and died. We are all scared of losing our dogs now. Becky Copeland

I would contact The Snake Breaker. He has a website. He gives clinics, and goes to the big outdoor stores but it is definitely worth the road trip to go to his place if he isn't giving a clinic near you. Anyone with a snake and a shock collar can zap a dog, but you want a DOG TRAINER who understands how dogs think and learn to do it. I'm hard to impress and I really liked this guy.
