Farm Fresh Blog

I haven't forgotten you guys!  In addition to painting the house, painting furniture, keeping a farm going, and going to my "payin' job" every day, I'm trying to put in a new garden.  (before the goats kill the lemon trees that are valiantly hanging in there!)

The new tractor paid for itself already. Yesterday we sank cedar fence posts for a new fence (to keep the goats out!) Today we slammed metal posts into the ground between the cedar posts.

And this picture is for all my girlfriends who asked, "Has HE let you drive the new tractor yet?"

Garden? What kind of garden? Maybe garden means something different to you than it does to me. I picture a tilled plot of X by Y yards/meters, planted with seeds of various vegetables or flowers. Also, due to my extreme laziness I can't help but wonder why a body would go to the work of making a new garden on land she plans to move from. But that's just me. Probably.

Well, there are a number of reasons. I like fresh produce. I don't like grocery store produce. I like container gardening but I have goats that eat everything! They have already killed one antique rose and are trying to kill two lemon trees. Solution: fence around trees! Might as well put garden in there too!
